White Magick

Let’s continue to debunk some magick myths, so that we can honor the full spectrum of our power as witches. In our exploration of Black Magick (we recommend checking out this post first) we outlined the practices and correspondences of release, letting go or pushing away. As we truly can not have one side without the other, this brings us to the opposite polarity, White Magick!

Check out this video to dive deeper into this rich topic!

And here is a checklist of what we discuss in this video:

  • White Magick spells are performed for purposes of manifesting and bringing in, such as…

    • Love spells

    • Abundance and Wealth spells

    • Spells for greater health/healthier habits

    • Welcoming more peace and harmony in your home

  • These workings are intended to be performed during the waxing moon phases, as the moon is gaining power and becoming more fully illuminated in the sky

  • Primary planetary correspondences include Venus and Jupiter

  • We continue our analysis with The High Priestess tarot archetype for greater context about the pillars of polarity and why it’s important to honor both

    • The High Priestess is seated directly in between the black and white pillars, showing us the necessity of working with both forms of magick in order to be depolarized and in our highest potential

    • The black pillar is called Boaz, Pillar of Severity, representing the subconscious, feminine force of duality

    • The white pillar is called Jachin, Pillar of Mercy, representing force, action, and the expansive, volitional masculine component of dualistic experience

  • Just as not all Black Magick is “bad” or baneful, not all White Magick is inherently “good” or of high moral integrity

  • For example, a love spell directed towards a specific person to force them to fall in love with you could be considered encroaching upon their Free Will

  • Rather, we want to consider doing spells for the emotion or experience we desire and remain open about how and with whom it will happen

  • Attempting to intervene upon the Free Will of another person is generally frowned upon… don’t do magick for someone else without their request, permission and consent!

  • It is radically self-responsible to be discerning and make empowered decisions rooted in understanding circumstances when we are setting ethical intentions

Even with the highest intentions in mind, you never know what someone else is consenting to in terms of magickal workings unless they express it to you and give you permission to affect their energy. To remain responsible with our craft, we only cast spells on our own behalf, because it’s in alignment with the highest moral integrity! We believe in our sovereignty, which includes respecting the Free Will of others as much as our own.
